BAO relies on volunteers and advocates to follow our mission and make Birmingham a healthier city for all.  There are many volunteer opportunities at BAO throughout the year.  Some volunteers prefer to help during regular business hours on weekdays, while many other volunteers are only available nights and weekends.  Typical volunteer duties during regular business hours include office and administrative tasks, helping in the clothing department, and making boxes of food in our pantry.

Most volunteers are only available nights and weekends and help BAO with fundraising and special events.  Each year BAO recruits volunteers to serve on the Arty Party Committee and the AIDS Walk Committee.  Both of these events are BAO's largest fundraisers.  Arty Party is held in May and the AIDS Walk in September of each year.
