B-FED/BeBright
B-FED is a collaborative project between the UAB 1917 Clinic and BAO that expands the Ryan White funded BAO nutrition services program to improve the health of patients living with HIV. Before B-FED, BAO was limited in the types and amount of food and nutritional supplements that they could provide to clients. Clients now have access to restaurant quality vegetables, fruits, meats, dairy and grains. As a part of B-FED, an education department was developed to teach clients about nutrition, food safety, meal preparation and health education. If medically necessary, clients can receive meal delivery from Mom's Meals, which sends clients healthy pre-made microwavable meals catered to their unique health needs.
